Cancellation & Refund Policy
How cancellations and refunds work for Japan holidays booked with Bluedust. This policy forms part of our Terms & Conditions.
Last updated: October 2026
1. Who this applies to
This policy applies to every Japan holiday booked with Bluedust, a sole proprietorship based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. If your written booking confirmation states different terms for a particular service (for example a special event, a peak-season hotel or a group booking), those terms apply to that service.
2. Deposit
Your trip is confirmed once we receive your signed booking form and the booking deposit. The deposit is non-refundable, because it is used to secure hotels, transport and other services on your behalf.
3. Cancellation charges
If you cancel a confirmed trip, the following charges apply, as a percentage of the total package cost, based on when we receive your cancellation:
- 45 or more days before departure: loss of the deposit only
- 30 to 44 days before departure: 50% of the total package cost
- 15 to 29 days before departure: 75% of the total package cost
- Within 14 days of departure, or if you do not travel: 100% of the total package cost
Airline tickets, once issued, follow the airline’s own fare rules, which may be partly or fully non-refundable regardless of the schedule above. Visa fees, travel insurance premiums and any third-party fees already paid are not refundable.
If only some travellers in a booking cancel, the charges apply to their share of the cost, and the price for the remaining travellers may be recalculated, because some costs (such as private vehicles and guides) are shared.
4. How to cancel
Cancel in writing by email to [email protected] or by WhatsApp to the number on your booking. The date we receive your written message is the date used to work out the charges. We will acknowledge it in writing.
5. How refunds are paid
Any refund due is paid to the account it came from, in Indian Rupees, after deducting the cancellation charges above and any amounts that airlines, hotels or other suppliers do not return to us. We aim to pay refunds within 30 days of your cancellation; where a supplier refunds us later than that, we pass its share on within 7 working days of receiving it. Bank and currency conversion charges are not refundable.
6. Changes instead of cancelling
If you would rather change your dates, hotels or route than cancel, we will try to do so subject to availability. Changes may carry a rescheduling fee and any charges suppliers make; we tell you these in writing before making the change.
7. If we cancel
If we have to cancel your trip for reasons within our control, we refund everything you have paid us in full, or offer an alternative of equal or higher standard if you prefer.
8. Events beyond control
If travel becomes impossible or unsafe because of events beyond anyone’s reasonable control, such as natural disasters, epidemics, government travel restrictions or major transport disruption, we will work with suppliers to recover as much of your money as possible or to rebook your trip. Refunds in these cases depend on what suppliers return, less our reasonable costs already incurred. We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation.
9. Questions
Questions about a cancellation or refund can be sent to [email protected]. If you are not satisfied with our response, see our Grievance Redressal page.
